The type of database that you need depends on the number of concurrent users that you anticipate as well as the amount of data that you will be wanting to process and store.
If you have a requirement for a database with 10 - 100 concurrent users and will require giga rather than terabytes of data then Microsoft SQL Server will be perfectly adequate for you.
It may be that your requirement is for a handful of users, processing small data volumes with no requirement for remote access - in which case we would develop your database application using Microsoft Access.
The other factor that we need to consider is the environment that your database will run in. Do you have field based staff that require access over the internet? Are there other UK or International offices that would require access to your database? If so we may advise that your database application is hosted in a secure environment available 24/7 to authorised users over an internet connection.
If you already have a database which is no longer performing or you have specific requirements which cannot be covered by SQL or Access we would welcome the opportunity to come and discuss these with you. Alternatively read more here about our Bespoke Software Development
